Job Summary
Performs analytical and administrative work directed at maintaining accreditation and departmental standards. Researches and prepares a variety of reports as required by the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA)

Assesses short- and long-term integration of Department policies and procedures as they relate to the requirements of CALEA by coordinating policy development within the department

Performs a variety of other technical and administrative tasks in support of the department as assigned by the Chief of Police or Assistant Chief

Qualifications
Requires an extensive knowledge of CALEA standards, the accreditation process, and how they pertain to the department’s policies and procedures, facility, and equipment.

Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak in front of groups of people.

Requires good organizational and detail-oriented skills.

Requires a working knowledge of all phases of the police department function.

Requires the ability to work well with other department members.

Requires a good working knowledge of and the ability to use a computer.

Requires a working knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of modern law enforcement operations and administration.

Requires the ability and desire to work toward the goal of maintaining the department’s accredited status.
